My approach with abstract has been one to clear my mind and connect with the spiritual energy of Creation. My intention begins with a color palette in mind which becomes altered through the process of creating. Sometimes it captures the darkness in life when I initially was seeking light. The process is always surprising, often the piece will take months to complete. 

My technique usually begins by applying acrylic paint, sometimes adding tissue paper for texture and finishing with layers of oil paint and glazing. I’ll scrape portions of the paint off in order to find the beauty beneath or create objects with my palette knife that present nature such a leaves or flowers. The application of materials is like an approach to living. Often times what lies beneath must be uncovered thereby revealing depth to its beauty. 

I project glimpses of natural elements from nature, movement from Spirit and the silent whispers from within on my personally driven creations of art. There’s an angelic resemblance in my works that I intend people will tap into. My abstractions are a representation of The Spirit Within.
